Commencement Ceremony

Join the ceremony early to view video messages from the Carroll alumni family, faculty and staff congratulating our graduating students on their achievements!

Commencement is the ceremony at which degrees are conferred. It is an occasion of great significance to graduates, families and friends, and a formal recognition of academic achievements. The undergraduate ceremony will be roughly 2.5 hours long, and the graduate ceremony will be roughly 1.5-hours long.

Commencement begins with bagpipers and includes speeches by Carroll's president, the class speaker and an honored guest speaker. Then the provost calls the graduates' names for individual recognition, receiving well wishes from university administrators.

Please note your official diploma will be mailed to your permanent address following the ceremony. Please confirm with the registrar that the correct address is on file.

Inclement Weather Plan

In the event of inclement weather, adjustments may be made to the ceremony location. Some weather conditions may prompt a move indoors, while others may not impact outdoor plans. Attendees should plan and dress accordingly.

Guest access to the indoor venue will be limited and requires an official event pass. Passes will be distributed to students in advance and must be worn by guests for entry. Those without a pass may be directed to a designated overflow viewing area.

A live-stream option will be available. For those unable to attend in person or preferring to view remotely, a streaming link will be provided on the event website and shared with students ahead of time.
